Cameras are a fundamental component in mobile robotics, providing essential visual data that enables robots to perceive, interpret, and interact with their surroundings. In this custom integration, our team outfitted the Jackal UGV mobile base with an array of FLIR Blackfly cameras, alongside a suite of additional sensors and tailored modifications. These customizations allow for enhanced sensor fusion capabilities and improved performance in navigating and analyzing complex and dynamic environments.
Included sensors and components:
Jackal UGV mobile base
FLIR BlackFly camera (x5), height adjustable
Ouster OS1 3D LiDAR
XVN Vision RTK2 navigation system
NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin
Breakouts for HDMI, ethernet, and USB
ROS
This robot is an excellent candidate for AI research, autonomous research, inspection, and perception. With five adjustable FLIR Black Fly cameras and a collection of sensors to boot, this Jackal is decked out and ready to zip around surveying and monitoring industrial sites. The integration of high-resolution imaging and real-time data collection ensures that every angle and condition is covered, providing operators with a comprehensive view of the environment.
