Clearpath Ridgeback

Ridgeback

Ridgeback is a medium-sized indoor robot platform that effortlessly moves robotic arms and heavy payloads using omnidirectional drivers. The omnidirectional base provides precise positioning in restricted environments and is fully integrated with onboard computers, front and optional rear laser scanners, and IMUs. Ridgeback provides native ROS and Gazebo integration, and is plug and play compatible with various robot accessories from Clearpath.

Features

All-round
Ridgeback is designed with a full range of mechanical wheels, with precision drives and high-resolution encoders (35840 pulses per revolution), which can achieve precise position control within 3 degrees of maneuverability.
Unconstrained development
The versatility of Ridgeback makes unconstrained path and algorithm planning possible. Ridgeback can even simulate a more limited platform by not using its side-to-end capabilities.
360 degree field of view
The integrated lidar and top plate are designed for an unobstructed 360-degree lidar field of view (requires rear-mounted lidar). This allows Ridgeback to operate autonomously, avoid collisions, and make full use of the mobility provided by its omnidrive base to plan paths.
Definable accessories
Like all Clearpath robots, Ridgeback is plug-and-play compatible and compatible with our extensive list of robot accessories. Prototype design of industrial or commercial mobile robots has never been easier.
Low-key
Ridgeback is only 11 inches (30 cm) tall and can pass through a standard 32-inch (80 cm) door. This allows Ridgeback to operate effectively in typical industrial and commercial environments. It also has a passive suspension system to ensure reliable traction over ground transitions or changing terrain (such as concrete ground).

SAWYER PACKAGE

The Sawyer Package includes a podium mount, power system tie-ins and communication for Sawyer, enabling the robot to be integrated in under 30 minutes. Easily coordinate behaviours between Ridgeback and Sawyer with ROS support and a software URDF which defines sensor positions.

UR5 PACKAGE

The UR5 Package includes mechanical mounting, integrated UR5 controller, power and communications for the Universal Robotics UR5 robot arm. It also includes a Robotiq 3-Finger gripper and a force torque sensor. Easily coordinate behaviours between Ridgeback and UR5 with full ROS, Gazebo Physics Simulator, RViz and MoveIT! Motion planner support.
